GTM Structural Restoration Underway at Race Rush Garage

Structural Verification and Body Geometry
Initial photos from the process (see:) reveal the hard truth: total disassembly. The body shell was mounted onto a specialized Jig (repair frame) to verify the nominal chassis reference points.
-
Frame Rail Replacement: Comprehensive structural analysis mandated the decision to replace frame rails. This is a critical step toward restoring factory rigidity-and eventually, establishing competition-level front-end stiffness. This isn’t just a repair; it’s a redefinition of the vehicle’s foundation.
-
Jig Geometry: Utilizing precise tooling guarantees that once the new Restomotive suspension components are installed the wheel alignment will be perfectly synchronized with the chassis centerline.

Components Ready for Installation
Parallel to the ongoing bodywork, at Restomotive we are preparing the components that will soon power the “GTM.” We are unveiling new, high-performance long-tube headers, currently waiting to be paired with our proprietary, in-house exhaust system. Also standing by is the full set of control arms, which we are detailing with technical precision on our blog.

FIA Safety Cage
Alongside chassis rigidity, driver safety remains paramount. Race Rush Garage is preparing the body shell for the installation of a full, homologated FIARollCage specification. This cage will serve a critical dual role, providing ultimate protection and significantly enhancing the overall torsional rigidity of the chassis.
The Result: Establishing the Base
Establishing the foundation for extreme chassis rigidity is the first step in our campaign. The restoration performed by Race Rush Garage ensures that the Mustang GTM will return to the track stronger, stiffer, and more precise than ever before.
